DAVIS, Yolo County — October 26, 2026. Davis residents holding their city’s 2026 Bulky Waste Landfill Voucher have until Saturday, October 31 to use it. The City of Davis says the voucher, distributed by Recology Davis to qualifying residential customers in spring, permits one free qualifying load at the Yolo County Central Landfill.
How big can the load be?
The limit is approximately a full-size pickup bed or van, or a small trailer no more than three feet high and eight feet long. Materials beyond the printed voucher’s limits may incur normal disposal costs. Residents should read the actual voucher for accepted and prohibited material categories rather than assume everything from a home or yard qualifies.
Who qualifies?
The voucher must be presented at the landfill alongside proof of Davis city residency (such as a driver’s license or utility bill) matching the address on the voucher. Only one voucher per household is accepted. It cannot be transferred to another household or used for commercial waste or business materials.
If someone else hauls a resident’s waste, the hauler must bring the resident’s matching proof of address. The voucher is not redeemable for cash and is not a permit for unlimited landfill trips.
Check before visiting
Residents should verify Yolo County Central Landfill operating hours and the acceptable material list before traveling. Recology Davis can be reached at 530-756-4646 or RecologyDavis@Recology.com.
